smoking his last cigarette
Morganna sighed softly to herself, it had been a long night at the ER and of course she had been spat at, sworn at and even hit a couple of times by some patients coming in so they could be looked over before heading on over to the Psychiatric hospital for an evaluation. Considering everything, it had been a pretty normal night for the blonde haired Polish/Irish lass. Shaking her head Morganna pulled her cigarettes out of the pocket on her scrubs and lit up a smoke.
To be honest, her night was finished. She was working overtime as someone else had called in saying they couldn't make the shift and Morganna had put her hand up saying she'd take the spot. Taking a deep drag on her cigarette she leaned against a wall, resting her head against the cold bricks she closed her eyes and raised her right leg so she could press her foot against the wall as well. Morganna didn't know how much longer she could go without a coffee fix, though she did have a feeling that once she finished her shift she wouldn't be getting a cab home instead of driving. She didn't fancy falling asleep behind the wheel and killing someone.
Pushing the fingers of her left hand through her hair Morganna opened her eyes and looked up at the dark sky, it was midnight she knew that from looking at the little clock she had pinned at her scrubs before she walked outside for a smoke. Seeing someone come out of the main waiting room Morganna flashed the person a gentle smile and raised her right hand in a small wave, "Hope you didn't have to wait too long in there" she called out gently with a soft laugh, her accent seemed a little strange coming out of her mouth and people were often confused about the mixed accent she had. Some people didn't like spending hours in the waiting room while she and others were busy saving someone else's life in the ER.
Some people didn't get that the dying came before the sick. That small fact annoyed Morganna a little but she always pushed it aside and continued with her jobs as if nothing was bothering her. Hell, she would happily take abusive and rude ER patients to those angry and tired ones sitting in the waiting room wanting to take out their frustration at waiting on the poor person to call them in. Glancing at the person again Morganna graced them with another smile as she took another deep drag of her cigarette before she let it fall to the ground and stubbed it out with the toe of her right shoe as she took her foot off of the wall.
