Welcome to This Is My Hell, a modern horror and paranormal role playing site.
Essex, New Jersey, is a lovely county to live in or visit. It is historical and cosy, welcoming and beautifully located in the east of the States. For centuries, it’s been the beloved home of many ignorant or paranormal humans, angels, vampires, werewolves, shifters, demons and hybrids of the before-mentioned.
And all this time, the human race has been the only acceptable one. All the other humanoids were labelled as supernatural beasts and abnormal monsters, ignored or hunted and forced to hide their true faces. Humans with innate abilities were locked up as mental patients. As time went by, the existence of other species was forgotten. Life has been a secret hell for the special ones. Sadly enough, none of that seems to change. Humanity is ignorant of the hypocrisy in their morals and most remain unaware of the fact that these so-called beasts are all around them.
Whether you be a socially acceptable human or a monster, you should hide under your mask of sympathy - or not.
Winter's cold breath has finally subsided and spring is in the air. The bare trees now flourish with flowers and leaves. The cool temperatures died down and warmth floods the air. Spring is in the air and it's here to stay at least for a little while.

Essex and surroundings offer a wide variety of food chains, ranging from fancy-shmancy Michelin-star restaurants to run-down greasy food stands. Whatever suits your liking.
There are many ways to entertain oneself at night, one option is to go out and about. The nightlife facilities in Essex are numerous and vary a lot. Whether you’re interested in a ‘clean’ or sleazy club, an old pub to get drunk or a hyper-modern dance hall to meet new friends – or whatever you like to call them, you’re bound to have a fun night. Don’t forget your ID.
Every self-respecting city needs a network of emergency services, including a hospital, police office, court and fire station. All these buildings have two things in common: they’re there to serve the public and their architects were all cheap minimalists. However, despite their uninviting and cold appearance, empty walls, pale colors and unimpressive sizes, these places keep the city going.
The majority of those that work need an office. Here, you can find all those tall, glass buildings in the city centre. Although the architecture is cold and clean, the office blocks themselves are buzzing with life, stress and the smell of coffee.
Need some time for a little rest and relaxation? How about a visit to the park? Need a little fun and excitement? Try visiting New Jersey's largest movie theater or the local museum. Any of Essex's recreational areas are guaranteed to leave a smile on your face.
Every city has these areas… Where crime is abundant and anything can happen. Be careful walking the streets alone at night. The darkness isn’t your only enemy.
The ocean is close to Essex, in fact, it’s only a short drive away. Endlessly deep blue welcomes surfers, sun-lovers and tourists like no other body of water ever could. Here, you’re free to swim, sunbathe or recreate yourself by doing water sports.
The forest just outside the city is a most peaceful place, quiet and serene. It’s been left as natural as possible, which makes it highly attractive for animals and other, even worse beasts. It’s known to be one of the less safe spots of the area and entering it after dusk is at own risk.
Need to get outside away from the city but don’t want to go somewhere too engulfed in nature, then the fields are the place for you. From shooting ranges, to paintball and other sporting fields, if you have the need for something with an open space, this is the right spot.
Yes, the countryside exists in New Jersey. Outside of the city some miles upon miles away resides the countryside. Horses, wheat, and nature consume the land unlike Essex’s manifesting structures of steel and concrete. If the park in the city doesn’t work for you, this place will surely sooth your soul.
