Thank you for reading this. We’re going to rely on your sanity and keep these rules nice and short, so the lazy people out there don’t have to read as much. Please, do abide these rules.
#1. THE BASICS,
Keep the usual RPG rules in mind. Don’t act other people’s characters’ actions out, don’t make God-like characters, don’t forget that everyone has flaws, be respectful toward the other members and the staff and behave. If you’re old enough to be here, you’re old enough to know what’s normal behaviour. Stick to the Proboards TOS too and ‘fade out’ all mature parts; do not have anything exceed PG-13; so we don’t get ourselves deleted.
Be polite. Leave an away message if you're going to be inactive for a while, so we don't freak out and delete your account for inactivity. Don't post in the in-character games or in the boards until your characters gets accepted and don't stalk the staff. We'll get to checking applications as soon as we can.
TIMH (This Is My Hell) has 4 Activity Checks each year. However, between Activity Checks we have the right to delete members if we choose whom are inactive to free face claims and such. If you joined (non-accepted characters only) and haven’t logged on or posted in over 2 weeks, we reserve the right to delete your account.RiskCassyTeejCassy has paid for the CBox so now it is premium. Thank him/her for His/her generosity. Remember to abide by the rules even in the CBox.
#2. THE IMAGES,
Don’t claim others’ images as your own, please. Having the product of your hard work being stolen is very, very annoying. You’re free to have an avatar and sig, as long as it’s a real-life picture of the character’s play-by, but either make it yourself or credit its creator.
We’ve put limits on your image sizes, so as to keep the board from stretching. Avatars can not be wider than 150 pixels. We don’t particularly care about the height, though the recommended size is 150x200. Signatures can not be wider than 500 pixels nor taller than 500.
#3. THE POSTING,
We won’t force you to post novels each day, but one post a week would be lovely. There’s no word count, so you can decide for yourself whether you want quick paragraph posts or elaborate ones. Just make sure that you keep it even: try to stick to more or less the same length as the post before you. We allow past-tense, third-person posts and first person, with the communication board and in-character games as an exception. Please remember to use proper capitalization and such when dealing with profiles and on the role playing boards!
Liquid time is allowed. Be in as many threads as you want to be, with the same character for all we care. As long as you can handle it, we don't mind if you have a million threads. We encourage it.
#4. THE CHARACTERS,
First of all, each character should have its own account. You can have as many as you wish, but don't make a bazillion characters just to ignore them. Keep them active. Second, every character should be original. Don’t try to make Hermione-like witches or Edward-like vampires, because we will not accept them. Also, Play-By’s as well as characters themselves must be at least 18 years of age. Sorry, but we don’t like teenagers or kids walking around. No offence. =) This will be taking full effect after the Activity Check in February.
We're very tolerant and open when it comes to species and powers and honestly: as long as it's moderately logical, we can live with any interpretation. Think of the classic vampire- and werewolf-tales you heard of and keep those in mind. Also remember people: we want originality. Don’t use a character right out of a movie, book, or even history itself – and remember to not be any people from myth or religion. Originality!
Last but not least: post your applications like LAST, first middle. We want SMITH, john trouble. If you don't, we'll poke you with a sharp stick until you do. Characters that are WIPs that have not been fixed or finished will be moved to the archives. If you want them moved back please PM the administrator or reply to the thread.
Due to V5, when modifying your profile, make sure you have BOTH "age" and "martial status", else the mini-profile code messes up for it's sensitive.
Remember: reading the FAQ is just as important as the rules. It could help you.
Enjoy. We adore you.
