lions make you brave
you don't have to feel safe to feel unafraid
Emiah sighed softly to herself, she had got given a job by some guy who refused to tell her his name but he gave her an address to go to to get back apparently an exquisitely carved box that was an heirloom. A job was a job and jobs of the illegal sort had been rather lacking lately so Emiah had agreed to it. Now she found herself standing outside of someones door, lock-pick tools in hand and her normal black outfit in place; crouching down a little she began to fiddle with the lock until she heard the satisfying click of it unlocking.
"Piece of cake" she said to herself as she stood up, glanced around and then opened the door and slid inside. She didn't want anyone to notice her going inside as she did have a reputation with authorities and it wasn't a good one. She had scoped the place out and had come to the conclusion that the place was empty for now, but Emiah didn't know for how much longer and she honestly didn't want to spend too long in the place.
Closing the door behind herself she re-locked it and set about searching the place for this box, after sending a good ten minuets looking she huffed unhappily to herself having found nothing. Placing her hands on her hips Emiah looked around a little and was about to take a step back into the hall to go for the front door when she heard the door click, cursing to herself she quickly moved into the room she had figured out was the master bedroom and stood off to the side of the door so she could still peek out into the hall.
Hearing someone come inside Emiah closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the wall and mimed hitting her head, just her luck to still be in the place when the owner came home. Hearing footsteps coming towards the bedroom she tensed and looked around frantically, there was a window she could climb out but she didn't want to fall. Noticing the footsteps pause for a second before moving into the living room Emiah decided to risk it and slipped out of the bedroom and started to make her way towards the door to leave, but before she could even touch the door handle she tensed feeling someone behind her.
Closing her eyes she let out an annoyed sigh before she raised both of her hands so the person behind her could see then, Emiah didn't know if they had a gun or what but she wasn't going to risk getting shot in the back. Hell, she wasn't even going to risk running for it now since she had been caught. "God freaking dammit" Emiah groaned.
