Old Nixon Old Nixon is New Jersey's only castle, at least in this area. It's really far away in the forest on the mountains and it's extremely old. Built in the medieval days, now resides a castle that will never see battle. Most of this castle is closed off, but some is open for the public for tours. Beneath Old Nixon is the Catacombs of St. Mary. They are extremely long and some go under the city of Essex itself. They're abandoned and deserted for the most part, but some homeless and drug addicts sneak in here to cause mischief. Be careful, whatever you do... |

Mountain Region Miles upon miles inward things get rocky and inclined. The mountain region is beautiful yet scary due to the critters that roam about as well as only a few trails go this far inward. Remember to bring a compass and some water in case you ever get lost in the forest on the mountain. |

Unnamed Cave A hole in the ground that seems to go down forever. That's what the untrained eye sees if you happen to be so lucky to almost fall into this unknown and unnamed cave. This, though, is paradise for explorers and spelunkers. Be careful where you trend; it is unnamed and not fully explored. |

Morris Falls Not widely known in the forest is Morris Falls. A beautiful waterfall located some miles inward to the west. The sun slips through the trees and hits the water just perfectly that it creates a beautiful scene. This is a perfect place to relax, to have fun, and to enjoy nature all at the same time. |

Everleigh's Island Located a mile or so in the forest resides Lotz Lake; a man-made lake in the middle of the forest where a condo residential area was being made but ended up being canceled. Now all that resides there is the lake, flattened land where the homes were going to go, and an island in the middle of the large lake. This island is decent sized but nothing too amazing. Some game reside on the island but not much. This is a perfect fishing and camping spot if you want more solitude. |
